About the Twin Cities Recorder Guild (TCRG)

The Twin Cities Recorder Guild (TCRG), based in Minneapolis-St. Paul, Minnesota, is a chapter of the American Recorder Society. It is a non-profit organization with the goal of supporting and encouraging recorder playing in our community. We provide opportunities for members to play together and to learn more about recorder playing, and we share recorder and early music with the community through performances, workshops, and a newsletter.

We have monthly meetings  (September - May) for recorder players of all ages and levels; they include group playing, a presentation by our music director or guest, socializing, and an opportunity to buy music and instruments. We meet at the same time and place as the North Star Viols and often share activities.

We produce a newsletter, maintain a lending library of recorder music & instruments, and sponsor recorder and early music workshops and performances.

Next Meeting :
September, 2010, TBD

See below for summer playing opportunities.

Check back later in the summer for the 2010 - 2011 meeting schedule. Meetings are usually 2-5 pm, the third Sunday of the month, September - May, at Olivet Congregational Church, St. Paul, Minnesota.

Summer Recorder Playing

Once again we will have summer playing hosted at members' homes. All those willing to host the group at their home for a summer playing session, please contact Sue Silber. A schedule will be posted after volunteers have signed up.

New TCRG Beginner's Group

Free summer beginner classes will begin on Monday, June 7 at 10 am in St. Louis Park. Contact Barbara Aslakson for directions and to let her know you will be attending. Also contact her for more information or to suggest other dates or times. How often we meet will be up to the group.
